About

From a Shared History to a Shared Mission

My belief in the power of family didn't start with a perfect blueprint. It started in a home shaped by addiction and instability. Growing up, I carried a deep, quiet conviction: that family could be created intentionally through love, commitment, and relentless care.
That belief eventually led me into the world of fostering and adoption. I didn't just become a parent; I became a parent to a full, complex family that included children with significant trauma backgrounds.
There was a time when I thought love would be enough to heal every wound and calm every chaos. But parenting children from "hard places" means facing behaviors and heartbreaks that most people cannot imagine. It means navigating years of crisis and extreme behaviors while trying to keep everyone safe—including yourself.
I have been at that breaking point. I know the sleepless nights, the tearful prayers, and the heavy moments of wondering if your best will ever be enough.
Through my own journey, I discovered that healing doesn't come from simply "trying harder"—it comes from seeing differently. Today, as an author, speaker, and educator, I help parents shift their perspective from fixing a behavior to understanding the biological need beneath it. My work is rooted in:
Brain Science: Understanding how trauma rewires a child's response.
Attachment: Building security when trust has been broken.
Compassion: Providing a shame-free space for parents who feel unseen and overwhelmed.
I founded this work and wrote my book, Parenting Beyond the Breaking Point, to remind you that your story isn’t over. Even the hardest relationships can be redeemed, and even the most exhausted parents can find grounding and clarity.
